Hello,

I downloaded your mobile phone app as one of the shop keepers recommended it, and it indicates that I can take photos of the receipts after they have been stamped at customs and upload them through the app. But on this website, the instructions say I have to physically drop off the receipts at your office in Schipol; however, the app doesn't say anything about that. So, I'm a little confused as to the point of the app. Is it that I need to both drop off the receipts as well as upload them to the app on my smartphone, or is it enough to do just one of these things?

Thank you for contacting us.

We would like to inform you that, in order to proceed with your VAT refund request, we need the physical, customs’ stamped purchase receipt(s). The reason is that we need to validate that your receipt is unique and to avoid that requests for VAT refunds will be send to the shop twice.

At this point we have not made a registration that your receipt(s) have reached our office yet. In case you have not delivered them to our service desk or dropped them in one of our mailboxes at Schiphol Airport, you can send them to our office in Amsterdam. The address is:
